This hit home. In fact, you got me off my ass to write a vignette I've been stewing on for years -- about a young dude who broke my heart in 1986. It was a sweet piece, a nostalgic piece, and in a fit of either courage or idiocy, I sent it to the dude. I have no idea how to feel about this now! Am a bit embarrassed but also kinda proud. (I actually posted my quandary on the EIF facebook group, until I saw someone in the group knows the dude!!) Anyway, thanks for the motivation. It ain't easy putting words into the world.

So agree with this. Without a boss or deadline I’m hopeless and that’s very much behaviour I’ve grown out of (or “should” have…)
