Seconding every single word you wrote. I have some very smart close friends who immediately went into the rote "she's unelectable" and "this country will not vote for a Black woman" responses. Sure, they may ultimately be right, but the, what, $100 million in grassroots donations that poured in over the last 24 hours seem to be very telling. And it's stupid to overlook how much will be poured into organizing and GOTV. Plus, a lot of people hate that rapist felon at the top of the Republican ticket and are turned off by his faux hillbilly running mate. So let's just TRY and see.

As someone following the US election from across the pond with equal dread and worry I can tell you that my entire Danish family rejoiced when we saw that Biden was stepping down and pointing at Harris.
