I just got my fifth stye in as many weeks—after not having a single one since I was like 22. My oph-thal-mologist (I know, weird) uncle said it's likely going to be a bigger problem for me going forward, thanks to aging. Wheee. Already had one round of antibiotics and two rounds of steroidal eyedrops. Like, now we have to worry about our EYELIDS being painful and fucked up and gross, too?? (I feel like the Chris Elliott character in Something About Mary.)

dry eye is the worst! I hope it is not too bad and is manageable. When we look at screens we don't blink as much. Try to look away from your screen and blink every so often, easier said than done.

Yes to painting a picture of possibility, when things don’t suck. Imagining clear eyes, politics that helps people and a chance to breathe. With hope from across the pond.

Dang eyelash growth serum gave me the dry eye - do the warm compresses but if it’s an infection, but *don’t* use the same wet washcloth twice.

Plus I’m on a trip in SF with a 17yo who’s being obstinate. Help!

Dry eyes & inability to cry can also be a sign of Sjögren’s syndrome - an autoimmune condition that affects moisture glands. I got it in my mid-40s

I’m sorry about your eye:( 👁️ I’ve had many eye issues myself. Styes , mites ( ick ) chalazions and dry eye as well as retina stuff . One thing that has helped has been Eyetamins, a supplement and Blink eyedrops. Unfortunately the state of our nation and the world I have no remedy for except not giving up and building community. Hope your eye is better soon.

Oh yeah the chalazion. I had to have one lanced. You do not want to go through that. I used the warm compresses twice a day without fail after that.

Feeling all of this! Sometimes it’s ok and necessary to avoid reality.
